Barbara Jenness Barden, 78, of Mechanicsville, went to be with the Lord on September 24, 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband; I.L. “Sonny” Barden, Jr., and her brother; Charles F. Jenness, Jr.
She is survived by her children; Dianne Roberson (W. Kelly), Cathy Moolhuyzen (Thomas),Stephen Linwood Barden, grandchildren; Kristen Moolhuyzen Hutter (Bryant), Megan and Michael Moolhuyzen, great grandchildren; Declan and Tatum Hutter, her brother; Stuart Jenness (Joyce), sister in law; Phyllis Jenness, nieces, nephews and many loved ones.
She attended Walnut Grove Baptist Church and Hanover Evangelical Friends Church. She volunteered for Head Start, and St. Mary’s Hospital.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7pm, on Sunday, September 26, at the Atlee Chapel of Woody Funeral Home, Route 301 and Shady Grove Road. Services will be held at 11am, on Monday, September 27, at the Funeral Home. Interment Signal Hill Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Hanover Fire Station #7.
