She was predeceased by her parents, Libro and Melba Cirillo, her brothers Joseph “Sonny” Cirillo and Donald Cirillo, her sister Gloria Landers, her grandson Forrest Walker, and her beloved husband of 58 years, Robert Walker, Sr.
She leaves behind an amazing legacy to her devoted daughters, Robin Rodgers (Robert) and Deane Kiley (Christopher), her stepsons Michael Walker (Shawn) and Robert Walker, Jr. (Sharon), daughter-in-law Brenda Walker and sister-in-law Carole Cirillo. She was the most cherished “Nana” to Brett Walker (Austin), Morgan Walker, Kyle Rodgers (Samantha), Allison Walker, Reagan Kiley, Jack and Webb Walker. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Barbara was born and raised in Quincy, Massachusetts. Due to a last minute substitution in a bowling league, she met the very handsome Bob Walker and they were married in 1961. She welcomed Bob’s sons into the family with loving arms. Bob and Barbara were soon blessed with two beautiful daughters, whom they were immensely proud of. Barbara was the most loyal and supportive spouse, relocating the family to various places (Maine, Tennessee, Puerto Rico, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Florida, and Virginia) to support Bob’s business dreams. They eventually settled in idyllic Marco Island, Florida for their retirement years. Barbara recently moved back to Virginia to be closer to her family. She was happiest when surrounded by her fun loving family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. The family sincerely thanks the staff at Sancerre Atlee Station for the love and care that they provided to Barbara the last few months. Memorial donations may be made to Audubon Western Everglades, PO Box 1738, Naples, FL 34106 (specify “Owl Watch Program”) or the “Robert S. Walker Regimental Scholarship Fund” at Maine Maritime Academy, One Pleasant St., Castine, ME 04420.
