Carolyn Waugaman

Carolyn graduated from William Byrd High School, Class of 1954, Vinton, VA, Longwood College in 1958, Farmville, VA, and was a member of the KAPPA Delta Sorority. After College, she worked for the Virginia Department of Agriculture as a seed analyst, then taught English at Manchester High School in Richmond, VA. She returned to Roanoke and worked at the Roanoke Animal Hospital for several years. Carolyn returned to Virginia and retired from the Virginia Department of Agriculture in October in 1991.

She was an avid reader who loved writing poetry and short stories. She never met a "stranger". Carolyn was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church in Ashland, VA, a past member of the Virginia Kennel Club, and one of the founding members of the Pembroke Welsh Corgi Club of the Potomac in 1974. She enjoyed breeding and showing her Corgi’s.

She is survived by her cherished brother Cecil Witt "CW" Waugaman and his wife Linda; aunt of Sheila (John) Feltis and Travas A. (Nerissa) Waugaman and great-aunt of numerous nieces. She is also survived by her beloved Corgi, Dash.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at 1pm at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Ashland, Virginia.
