

Christine Lydia Woodson nee Rennie, known to her grandchildren as Meems, passed from this earth on Thursday, August 1, 2024. She was born in Greenock, a shipbuilding town in Inverclyde, Scotland, located in the west central Lowlands, her father was a master carpenter in the shipyards where he helped build the RMS Queen Mary. The youngest of four, she immigrated with her family to America in 1952. The family settled in Columbus, Ohio, where Christine practiced ballet as a youth. It was in Columbus where Christine met her husband-to-be, Donald Woodson from Virginia, while he was stationed in the area with the Air Force.
Christine was a loving mother of two children, Thomas, and Brian. She worked as an engineering technician for the Newport News Waterworks until her retirement in 1990. Christine is survived by her children Thomas (Tricia) and Brian, Grandchildren Ian, Shane and Kaileigh May, her brother Lawrence (Gloria), her nieces Michelle, Renee, Lisa, Denise, Dorothy, and her nephews John and John. She is preceded by her husband Donald, her mother Margret, her father Ernest, her sisters Elspeth and Margo, and her niece Margo.
The funeral will be held at Woody Funeral Home 9271 Shady Grove Rd, Mechanicsville, VA 23116. Burial will take place in the following days at Culpeper National Cemetery for Veterans located at 305 US Avenue, Culpeper, VA 22701.
