Clarence Julian Seamster Sr.

Clarence “CJ” J. Seamster, Sr, 82, of Urbanna, VA, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, July 16, 2026. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Bass and Mary Holt Seamster; son, Clarence “Clay” J. Seamster, Jr.; and son-in-law Scott Holloman. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Patricia B. Seamster; his daughter, Cindy Holloman; daughter-in-law Denise Seamster; grandsons Matthew and Ian; brother Gene; and extended family.

CJ enjoyed a long and successful career in IT at Philip Morris, while also obtaining his degree from VCU. A lifelong fisherman, he and Pat retired to their beloved ‘rivah,’ and enjoyed being snowbirds, spending many winters in Sarasota, FL. Doting on his grandsons and taking many trips to bluegrass festivals with his beloved bride filled him with joy. He believed nothing was better than a good laugh, a great meal, and that dogs were a gift from God that made the world a better place.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 8, 2026, at 11:00 am at Woody Funeral Home- Atlee Chapel, with a reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of Greater Richmond.
