Dale McMahon

McMahon, Phyllis Dale, of Mechanicsville, Va. passed away Sunday, June 4, 2023 at home surrounded by family and friends. Born 1944 she was the daughter of Bernard L. McMahon and Courtney Higgason McMahon. She is survived by her sister, Diane M. Dix, her nephew, Matthew Dix (Barbie) and her niece, Michelle Pellegrino (Joe). Dale was preceded in death by her housemate of 44 years, Margot A. Regen.

Dale received her RN degree from UVA School of Nursing, BS from VCU and her MS from University of Maryland. She was fulfilled in her nursing career by caring and supporting those in her care. Dale enjoyed gardening, birds, reading, an ardent fan of UVA basketball and dachshunds. A special thanks to Bon Secours Mercy Health Hospice.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Woody Funeral Home-Atlee Chapel, 9271 Shady Grove Road, Mechanicsville, VA 23116 on Tuesday, June 13th at 11 AM. Inurnment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Massey Cancer Center of Virginia Commonwealth University, Doctors Without Borders USA, Inc, New York, New York or The Nature Conservancy, Washington, DC.
