Dare Harris Wright

Dare Harris Wright, (age 88), of Mechanicsville, VA, died on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at her home. Loving wife of the late Richard V. Wright; cherished mother of Temple Foster (Johnnie) and beloved grandmother of Meredith and numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Fred M. and Annie F. Harris; brothers Luther, Milner, Ray and Graham Harris; sisters Nelda Nelson and Louise Donald. Mrs. Wright was a faithful member of Broadus Memorial Baptist Church for many years and was employed there until her retirement in December of 2020.

Relatives and friends are invited to Mrs. Wright’s visitation at Woody Funeral Home-Atlee Chapel, 9271 Shady Grove Rd., Mechanicsville, VA on Monday, July 24 from 5-8 PM. A celebration of life service will be held at Broadus Memorial Baptist Church, 5351 Pole Green Rd., Mechanicsville, VA on Tuesday, July 25 at 10 AM. Reception to follow at 11 AM. Interment at the Harris Family Cemetery, Bumpass, VA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Broadus Memorial Baptist Church, General Fund.
