Donna Sue Kessler

Donna Sue spent her early life in the Northern Neck. After her family moved to Hanover County, she graduated from Lee-Davis High School in 1965. She completed her degree at James Madison University, and lived in Richmond, Virginia for over 50 years.

Donna served as a dispatch operator at St. Francis Medical Center. She also did volunteer work for Richmond Hill, on Grace Street. In her free time, she loved to socialize with people, eat good seafood, take scenic drives, tour Christmas lights, and especially to see her grandkids.

After surviving numerous health battles, Donna passed away at St. Mary's Hospital on February 18th. Donna is preceded by her mother, Ruth Isbell. She is survived by her sons, Bryan, 49, and Christopher, 45; by her sister, Ruth; and by her two wonderful grandsons.

Donna was a longtime member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, and attended weekly bible studies. A memorial service for Donna will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at Woody Funeral Home - Atlee Chapel, 9271 Shady Grove Road, Mechanicsville, VA 23116.
