

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, George Reid with whom she shared 63 beautiful years together. Elaine is also survived by her daughters, K. Felicia Matthews (Samuel) and Marshah St Louis (Mr. Avril); grandchildren, Brittney, Cierra, Soleil, Jolie, Christian, and Caché; and siblings, Glenroy, Dennis, Winston, Joy, and Colin.
Elaine’s life was marked by service, warmth, and creativity. A devoted counselor, she touched countless lives with her listening ear, wisdom, and gentle spirit. Her home was always a place of comfort; her door open, her table full of food, and her smile ready to greet anyone who entered. She was the heart of her family, the one everyone turned to for guidance, peace, and strength. Known for her kindness, patience, and laughter, Elaine was a peacemaker whose presence made others feel at ease.
Born in Jamaica, Elaine raised her family in Toronto, Canada, before immigrating to the United States in 1992. She graduated from Sheridan College in Canada with a degree in English and went on to live a life full of travel and creativity. She loved to read and write and she had a true talent for interior decorating. Elaine was a remarkable cook, a devoted mother, grandmother, and affectionately known as "Mimi".
