Elizabeth Crowe Kemp

KEMP, Elizabeth Crowe, 90, of Mechanicsville,Virginia, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, March 7, 2012. Beckie was born to Will and Josephine Crowe on April 25, 1921 in the Fairmount neighborhood in Richmond, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Carl Kemp Sr.; her sisters, Clara C. Thompson (Bob) and Ruby C. Blake (Carey); and her brother, W.A. "Chuck" Crowe (Lillian). She is survived by her son, Robert "Bob" C. Kemp Jr. (Olivia) of Henderson, N.C.; and her daughter, Judy Allard (Randy) of Mechanicsville, Va.; her brother, Thurman Crowe (Dot) of Virginia Beach; her brother, Evan Crowe (Beth); her sister, Royce C. Beasley (Bob) of Mechanicsville; her sister-in-law, Christine Gouldin of Warsaw, Va.; and numerous nephews and nieces. She is survived also by her seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, Robert "Bert" Carl Kemp III, (Michele) and children, Robert Carl IV and Grayson Ann, Travis Freeman Kemp (Tamara) and children, Alexis, Avery and Alaina, Katherine K. Robbins (Matt), John Burton Kemp, Christopher Randall Allard, Melanie Elizabeth Allard and Jacob Kemp Allard. She was dearly loved by all and will be missed by many. When you came to her home you were always welcomed by her sweet spirit and a glass of Nannie's tea. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 9, 2012 from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Woody Funeral Home, Atlee Chapel, Mechanicsville, Va., where funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 10, 2012. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Fairmount Christian Church, P.O. Box 788, Mechanicsville, Va. 23111.
