Elizabeth Wood Verlander

Liz was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Jeffries Verlander; sons, Ronnie and Steve Verlander; parents, Davis and Carrie Wood; and sister, Pauline Wood.

She dedicated her life to her family, who will miss her dearly. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and crocheting. Liz loved going to the beach and attending family gatherings.

Left to cherish her memory is her son, David Verlander (Debbie); grandchildren, Lorrie Bryant (Ike), Chris (Elizabeth), Jeffrey, Stoney (Cary Ann), Cary, Candice (Michelle), Jason (Anna), and April (Allen); 13 great-grandchilren; sisters, Marion Jenkins and Linda Carter; 3 special nieces, Wanda, Diane, and Suzanne; and numerous extended family members including, Carol Verlander.

The family will receive friends from 12 to 1:30 pm on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at Woody Funeral Home, 9271 Shady Grove Rd., Mechanicsville, Va. 23116 where a funeral service will begin at 1:30pm. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, 3101 Nine Mile Rd, Richmond, Va. 23223.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Liz's honor to the Children's Hospital of Richmond at VCU, 1006 East Marshall Street, Box 980693, Richmond, Va. 23298.
