

He was preceded in death by his son, Gary Wayne Anderson II; siblings, Judy Goodman, Nancy Vaught, and David Anderson; and his parents, William and Gladys Anderson. Gary was also preceded in death by his beloved pets, Daisy, Duke, and Jessie.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 45 years, Alice Glover Anderson; sons, Nathan Anderson and Joseph Anderson; sister-in-law, Peggy Anderson; brother-in-law, Chuck Glover; as well as his beloved pets, Jasmine and Coco.
Gary proudly retired from Roanoke Electric Steel, now known as Steel Dynamics, where he dedicated many years of hard work and commitment. He remained an avid sports enthusiast, faithfully cheering on UVA athletics and the Washington Redskins.
Known and loved for his signature “dad-humor”, Gary brought smiles to those around him through his witty sayings and memorable t-shirts. His light-hearted spirit was a gift to family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Later in life, Gary came to know Jesus as his Lord and Savior. Sinner saved by the grace of Jesus Christ who paid it all. Matthew 20:1–16.
