(Ret) Lt. Col. Herbert Michael Gradl, USMC, aged 92, of Aylett, Virginia passed away on Tuesday, May 22nd, 2024. He is survived by his daughter Lesley and her husband John Leopold, and his cherished grandchildren, Jack and Grace Leopold. He was a proud United States Marine who served his country for 20 years during the Korean and Vietnam War.
Herb's love for his family and friends was unparalleled. He was particularly fond of his grandchildren, Jack and Grace Leopold, and took great pride in their achievements. His warm and friendly nature endeared him to all, making friends wherever he went. He is now reunited with his beloved wife, Caryl, and his Savior Jesus Christ.
A graveside service will be held at a later date at Quantico National Cemetery in Triangle, Virginia.
