

He is survived by his children, Thomas "Joe" Lawson (Karen), Sharon Wright (Danny) and Bonnie Wood (Paul); his grandchildren Angela Lawson, Brian Lawson (Charil), Scott Poindexter (Jess), Justin Wood (Bonnie), Devon Drumm, Dana Robinson (Nate), and Dayley Taylor (Joe); 18 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, his sisters Vernie Beasley, Ruby Jacobs, and Jeannie Bronner (Dennis); and a host of nieces and nephews he loved as if his own.
Bennie was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Perkins Lawson, his parents Jack B. and Belvar P. Lawson, his siblings, Bernice "Bonnie" Lawson, Louise Mitchell, Robert Lawson, Ronnie Strickler, Tommy Strickler and Jackie Brannan.
He grew up in Hanover County, Virginia and loved sharing stories about growing up on the family farm and raising animals. His hobbies included watching Nascar racing, attending antique vehicle shows and collecting antique trucks, visiting casinos and spending time with family.
Bennie started his career in construction as a brick mason, then went on to prefab concrete construction and eventually owned and ran his own company, KRM Construction Co., Inc. His work was his greatest passion.
The family will be holding a celebration of life at a later date.
