He was born on July 2,1931 in Mechanicsville, VA to the late Vaclav Popek and Katherine Popek. James worked in sales and loved growing flowers and gardening, He like working with his hands making things, woodworking, carving, He also like writing poems and joking with everyone he met.
Left to his memory are his loving wife of 68 years Mary Lou Popek; sons, David J. Popek (Vickie), Jeffrey L Popek (Beth), grandchildren, James Cody Popek.
Services will be held for James on Wednesday August 7, 2024 at Corinth Christian Church 9153 Dabneys Mill Rd., Manquin, VA 23106. Viewing 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm, Service 2:00 pm– 3:00 pm, and Graveside to follow.
