Jane Wood WITT

March 6, 1936June 27, 2019

Jane Wood Witt left this life peacefully on Thursday, June 27, 2019. Born on March 6, 1936 in Wingina, she was predeceased by her parents, Charles Henry and Kathleen Morgan Wood; husband of 54 years, George D. Witt; daughter, Dana Marie; brothers, Charles, Cliff, and George "Bucky;" and sisters, Sarah W. Crews, and Maude W. Hagood. She is survived by her son, David Witt; daughter-in-law, Pam; dearly loved grandsons, Samuel and Matthew; her brother, James A. Wood (Barbara) of Wingina; along with beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Longwood College and had a career teaching across the state including Henrico County. When not spending time with her grandsons, she enjoyed cooking, sewing, and gardening, and could pretty much do whatever she set her mind to. Being one of seven siblings, family was always a priority. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 2nd, 2019, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Parham Chapel of Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Rd., Richmond, Va. 23229. Services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 3rd, 2019, at Welborne United Methodist Church, 920 Maybeury Dr., Richmond, Va. 23229.
