Obituary of Jody Weaver Wampler Yuhase
Jody Weaver Wampler Yuhase, 90 of Kilmarnock, VA, passed away on Friday, February 16, 2024 after a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie and Marion Weaver; her first husband, Zed Wampler, Jr.; and her second husband, Bill Yuhase. She is survived by her "little sister", Cynthia Theakston Capozzoli (Cappy); son, Lee Wampler (Teri); daughter, Lynn Maloney (David); grandchildren, Brandon Sommerville (Jordan), Brittany Strope, Daniel Maloney, and Erin Maloney; great grandchildren, Jaden, Jase, and Fiona; niece, Sharon Bradshaw (Mark); and stepson, Brian Yuhase (Lisa). Jody was an incredibly talented musician and composer, publishing an original work entitled 'Arlene'. Like her well-known father, Eddie Weaver, she was an accomplished pianist and organist who could literally play anything that had a string or a key. She loved accompanying the jazz band and glee clubs at TJ High School and University of Richmond, playing the "Mighty Wurlitzer" organ at the Byrd Theater, providing entertainment at National Ruritan Conventions, and playing events with the Bruce Woodson Quartet, among many other musical engagements. Jody brought joy to everyone that was lucky enough to hear her play. The family will receive friends Monday, February 26, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Woody Funeral Home, 9271 Shady Grove Road, Mechanicsville, VA. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Signal Hill Memorial Park, 12360 Hanover Courthouse Road, Hanover, VA.
