John Raymond Jones

John Raymond Jones Sr., 97, of Richmond, Virginia passed away peacefully in his home in the early hours of Sunday, February 11th, 2024. Born in Richmond, Virginia in 1926 to Green Berry Jones and Melissa A. Jones, John served in WWII (1944-1946) and worked as a lineman and technician for C&P/Bell Atlantic Telephone, retiring after 43 years of service. He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Carolyn W. Jones, his six children: Susan Tyler (Bert), John Jones Jr. (Bunny), Wanda Sharp (Tommy), Rebecca Schmidt, David Jones (Tanya), Amy Miceli (Nick), and his 18 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and 3 great, great grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to John's visitation at Woody Funeral Home- Atlee Chapel, 9271 Shady Grove Rd, Mechanicsville, VA on Tuesday, February 20th from 4-7 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, February 21 at 10 AM in the Woody-Atlee Chapel. Interment will immediately follow at Signal Hill Cemetery.
