

Del Giudice, Joseph Dennis of Mechanicsville passed peacefully on April 16, 2016 at his home surrounded by family. Joseph is preceded in death by his first wife Patricia Sullivan , and his parents Philomena (Nina) and Giuseppe Del Giudice as well as his six sisters Melissa, Marion, Mattie, Josephine, Marie, Imelda and his brother Gino.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Anne Frances Davis Del Giudice, two daughters Danielle Del Giudice Busby (Bill) and Deirdre Ann Del Giudice : four stepdaughters Dianne Musto Ellis, Jennifer Anne Golden (Scott), Leslie Schulten Brigagliano and Catherine Anne Schulten (Scott); two grandchildren David Sean Pearson and Elizabeth Anne Pearson and eight step grandchildren Jonathan and Alexander Golden, Olivia and Vincent Brigagliano, Ella and Nicholas Musto, and Stephanie and Eric Musto as well as numerous nieces and nephews and close friends.
Joseph was born in the Bronx, NY. After graduating from Imaculotta HS in Manhattan he served in the U.S. Army as a combat Infantry man on the front lines in Korea. He was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge, the Korean service medal with 3 Bronze service stars, the UN service metal as well as the National Defense metals. After serving in the Army, he graduated from Queens College in NY, NY. His first job was with H.C. Boerner Co,, a major food broker in NY, in 1957. He later became director of sales for Schraff Co. before joining Morton’s frozen foods. He then went in business for himself as founder and president of Joe Dell Brokerage. Thomas Hoffman later joined Joe Dell Brokerage in what became a lifetime friendship and professional partnership. Joseph retired from Joe Dell Brokerage in 2004 and became a partner in Premier Sales and Marketing from which he retired in 2012.
Joseph’s greatest joy was time shared with his wife Anne, and his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed the holidays and spending time on the water in Urbanna making memories with family and friends. His generosity was boundless and he helped many both professionally and personally. Kind to all with a warm smile and quick wit, he will be missed. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Hospice of VA, 1700 Bayberry Ct, Suite 300, Richmond VA 23226; Central VA Food Bank, 1415 Rhodmiller St. Richmond VA 23220 or St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 4491 Springfield Rd, Glen Allen VA 23060.Visitation will be held Friday, April 22 from 6-8pm at the Atlee chapel of The Woody Funeral Home on Shady Grove Road. Memorial Mass will be held at 12:30pm on Saturday, April 23 at St. Michael Catholic Church.
