Julia Janet Hodges

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George Hodges; sister, Dorothy Ann McDade Arnold; son, Robert Hines; and grandson, William Hines III.

Throughout her life, Julia wore many hats with grace and dedication; working as a salesperson, a banker, and a devoted homemaker. She was employed by Murphy’s First Federal Savings and Loan and then Sears, where she formed lasting relationships and made a meaningful impact in her community.

Julia found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved gardening, creating beautiful crafts by hand, and spending time with her family. Her gentle spirit, strength, and warmth will be remembered always.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: William Hines II (Rhonda), Vickie Silva, Debbie Bassett (JP), Robin Hines, and Otis Hines (Tammy Pries); grandchildren, Netaushia Wallschlaeger, Whitney Martin, David Meyer, Daisy Coats, Michelle Lopez, Kellie Steele, Katie Silva, Melinda Valdez, Kirsten Clay, Robert Hines, Bonnie Seeley, and Connie Silva; as well as multiple great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 26, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at our Parham location located at 1771 North Parham Road, Richmond, VA 23229.
