Lisa Kay Clemson

Lisa graduated from Graham High School in 1982. During her high school years, she was a cheerleader and played the flute in the school band. In her youth, she also sang in the church choir at Memorial Baptist Church in Bluefield, Virginia. She later earned an associate’s degree in Computer Programming from Bluefield State College.

Lisa devoted herself to her work with the same reliability and care she brought to every part of life. She worked for Hometown Realty as a Realtor for over five years. Later, she served as an Administrative Assistant at Oak Knoll Middle School in Hanover County for over fifteen years, where her dedication was recognized when she received the Support Employee of the Year award for Hanover County.

A faithful presence in her church community, Lisa sang in the choir at Beaverdam Baptist Church, where she had been a member for 20 years. Her faith was not only professed, but lived throughout everyday.

Lisa found joy in the simple and meaningful pleasures of home and family. She loved the beach, family game nights, and working on jigsaw puzzles. She enjoyed caring for the flowers in her yard and took special delight in decorating for the holidays. She also loved watching Clemson Football. Above all, she treasured attending every event for her grandchildren, showing up with a devotion that never wavered.

Lisa’s love was often expressed through the meals she prepared for those around her. She will be remembered for cooking for her family and for the comfort found in her delicious dishes—lasagna, potato soup, and biscuits and gravy among them. Her laughter filled rooms and hearts alike, famously contagious and often ending in a snort that made others laugh even more. Her family will remember her as the strongest person they know; after struggling with Multiple sclerosis (MS) for 22 years, she continued to demonstrate unwavering faith and a deep love for Jesus Christ.

Lisa was preceded in death by her parents, John and Karen O'Neal. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Andrew Clemson (Nicki) and Cody Clemson (Kelsey); grandchildren, Cason, Brynn, and Lainey; siblings, John Mark O'Neal (Linda) and Susan Gibberson (Jim); nieces, Kelsey Boone (Jay); and nephews, Hunter O'Neal and Brandon Gibberson.

The family will receive friends from 2:30pm to 3:30pm on Saturday, September 19, 2026 at Beaverdam Baptist Church, 19110 Beaver Dam Rd, Beaverdam, VA 23015, where A Celebration of Life will begin at 4:00pm.
