Mary West Krebbs

She was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, John E. Krebbs, Sr., and by her parents and nine brothers and sisters. She is survived by her two sons, John E. Jr. (Paula) and David W. (Ruth), all of Mechanicsville, as well as four grandchildren, Robert Krebbs (Erin), Emily Krebbs (Mark Bardwell), Laura Anderson (Andy), and Matthew Krebbs (Summer), nine great-grandchildren, and many dear nieces and nephews.

Rilla was a native of Lynchburg, Virginia, and moved to Richmond with her young family in 1951. She was an active member of Overbrook Presbyterian Church for many years and enjoyed participating in Adult Choir, Handbells, and the XYZ Club, as well as traveling with friends and family. She retired from JCPenney in 1986.

The family would like to thank the staff at Heritage Green in Mechanicsville, especially Martha, Kim, Diane, Wrenn, and Jemetrice, for their care of Rilla over the last 6 years. They would also like to thank Alex and Elizabeth of ACG Hospice for their help as Rilla navigated declining health in the last two years. Special thanks are also extended to Ann Rice, parish nurse at Overbrook, for her many faithful visits to Rilla.

Interment will be private. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, June 23 at Overbrook Presbyterian Church, 2605 Dumbarton Road, Richmond, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Choir at Overbrook is suggested.
