MATTHEWS, Mildred Sanford, age 96, born May 8, 1916, a resident of Imperial Plaza, went to be with her Savior on February 23, 2013. Mildred retired from the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond after 38 years of service. She was predeceased by her parents, Stanley Sanford Matthews and Ethel Gregory Matthews; a sister, Lucille M. Orcutt; brother-in-law, David B. Orcutt Jr.; and brother, George S. Matthews. She is survived by a sister-in-law, Irene W. Matthews; nephew, David S. Orcutt (Pamela) of Wilson, N.C.; great-nephews, David Britt Orcutt (Evette) of Clayton, N.C., and Chad E. Orcutt (Amy) of Wayne, Pa. She is also survived by three great-great-nephews and one great-great-niece. The family would like to thank her friends and the personnel of Imperial Plaza for making her life there happy, and particularly Thank you to the staff of the Azalea Building for the loving and tender care she has received while living there.
