Richard David Briggs

Richard David Briggs, 63, passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer on October 13, 2018. He was surrounded by his loved ones at his home in Lewisetta, Virginia. He is preceded in death by his parents Julia and Richard Briggs. Richard is survived by his wife, Mary Briggs and his children Benjamin (wife Angela), Emily (wife Beth,) Bennett, Shannon Granroth; stepchildren, Cameron and Nathan Crenshaw; grandchildren, Marley, Killian Briggs, Greyson, Ashton, Sawyer Bennett, Adam and David Granroth. Richard worked at Atlantic Constructors and retired from there in 2017. His final resting place will be in Lewisetta, Virginia where his heart lies. Visitation will be held at Woody Funeral Home – Atlee Chapel, 9271 Shady Grove Road, Mechanicsville, VA 23116 on October 18, 2018 from 6:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. In lieu of flowers please make donations to St. Jude Children Cancer Research.
