He leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, leadership, and service that touched countless lives throughout his family, community, and profession.
Bob was married to his beloved wife, Peggy, for more than 60 years. Together, they built a life centered on family, love, and lasting memories. He is survived by Peggy; his brother, Billy (Charlene); his children, Clay Dillard (Heather), Greg Dillard (LeAnn), and Kristen Gallahan (David); and his grandchildren, Dylan, Gabrielle (Aaron), Ty (Ellie), Bradley (Maddy), Gavin, and Jordyn. He was also a proud great-grandfather to Hattie, Georgia, and Brentley, who brought him tremendous joy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Florence, and his sister, Judy.
Outside of his professional life, Bob enjoyed playing golf and taking leisurely rides in his beloved Corvette. He was a member of Washington & Henry Masonic Lodge No. 344 and the Scottish Rite of Free Masonry, organizations that reflected his commitment to fellowship and service.
Visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 3, 2026 at First Baptist Church in Ashland, Virginia, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. A reception will follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or Tunnel to Towers Foundation in Bob's honor. His life was one of purpose, honor, and devotion; His standard in life was you do the right thing because it's the right thing to do. He leaves behind a legacy that will never be forgotten.
