

Bob enlisted in The United States Navy in 1952 and served during the Korean and Vietnam Wars, before retiring in 1985 after 33 years of service. His duty stations include the USS Des Moines, USS Macon, USS Franklin D. Roosevelt, USS Inchon and the USS John F. Kennedy, U.S. Naval Base Guantanamo Bay, Cuba and U.S. Naval Base Roosevelt Roads, Puerto Rico. Senior Chief Peverill’s awards and decorations include the Navy Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnamese Gallantry Cross, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Navy Occupation Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal (6), and the Navy Expenditionary Medal (2).
Bob is survived by 3 daughters, Lorrie Blish (Mike), Angela Robertson (Glenn), and Heather Martin (Robby); 8 grandchildren and 7 ½ great-grandchildren.
He will be remembered for his service to country, his golf obsession, enjoying retirement on the river, and hours spent watching the Washington Redskins/Commanders and Nationals baseball.
He will be buried with military honors at Quantico National Cemetery.
