Virginia Irene McLaughlin Riley, 100, of Richmond, formerly of Arlington, Va., passed away October 3, 2010. She was preceded in death by her parents, Orville Pearl and Nellie Murray McLaughlin; and husband, John Paul Riley; brothers, Raymond, Burt, Harry D., Lou and Bill McLaughlin; sister, Louania Stewart. She is survived by her son, John Riley II and his wife Carolyn of Richmond; daughter; Ruth E. Wooldridge of Pittsburgh, Pa.; grandchildren, Heather E. Riley and her husband Martin Conn and John P. Riley III; great-grandchildren, Celia, Julius and Simon Conn; sister-in-law, Mary McLaughlin; numerous nieces and nephews. Virginia was a member of Hatcher Memorial Baptist Church. The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 6, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Atlee Chapel-Woody Funeral Home, 9271 Shady Grove Rd., and where services will be conducted Thursday at 1 p.m. Interment in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
