OBITUARY

William Joseph Sherman

June 20, 1943July 14, 2021

William “Bill” Sherman went to be with the Lord on July 14, 2021, at 78 years of age. He was a graduate of Slippery Rock University and a retired pharmaceutical sales representative for Wyeth.

Bill was a life member of The Elks and 30+ year member of the Sons of Italy. He was an avid golfer and bowler who loved all sports. Bill passed away peacefully in Richmond, VA. Born in Glassport, PA, he was preceded in death by his father, William B. Sherman; mother, Josephine Gretz; and sister, Cathy Gretz. He is survived by his son, Jeffrey Sherman (Shannon) of Myrtle Beach; daughter, Michelle Rittenhouse (David) of Richmond; sister, Kimberly Gretz of Johnstown; brother, Charles Gretz of Glassport; and grandchildren, Alicia Mastry, Richard Sherman, Nicole Rittenhouse and William Rittenhouse.

A memorial service is to be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, August 7, 2021, at St. Michael the Archangel Parish, 432 Center Avenue, Butler, Pa. 16001. Donations in his honor welcomed at The Salvation Army and St. Michael’s church in Butler, PA.
