Mrs. Betty Lou Payne

Betty was born June 28th, 1932. One of 6 children born to John and Marie Walch, long time ranchers at Lake Creek. She attended Lost Creek School for two years and the Eagle Point School, graduating in 1951. On June 22, 1951 she married the love of her life, Herb Payne. She worked several different jobs in Grants Pass and Eureka until moving back to Rogue Valley. She was one of the first Sears employees in Medford, working at the catalog store. When Sears store was opened, she moved to the audit department and retired from there after 25 years. After retiring, she worked summers at Howard Prairie.

She was preceded in death by her husband Herb Payne, parents, John and Marie Walch, brothers, John Jr. and Lloyd Walch, sisters, Katherine Walch and Margaret Hansen, niece Peggy Ann Ralph, and nephew Rick Walch. Betty is survived by a sister, Shirley Stone, niece Jerilyn Watson, and family. She is also survived by her nephews, Ronald, Richard, and Russell Walch and their families. She will also be missed by many other relatives and friends.

Services will be at Eagle Point Veterans Cemetery on March 16th, at 2:00 pm.
