Beverly Ann Jensen

Beverly was born on November 14, 1935 at French Hospital in San Francisco, California to Lloyd Vanderbilt and Florence Petersen Vanderbilt. As a child, Beverly loved the thrill of roller skating down the steep San Francisco streets and liked to swim at China Beach. She also adored her many cats. Beverly was influenced by her father, a local band member, and learned to play the piano and sing. She enjoyed performing and still participated in Karaoke at 90 years old at her local “Critter Clubs” (Moose, Elks, etc.).

Beverly met her husband, Thomas Jensen, during a summer vacation at Hoberg’s Resort in Clear Lake, California (which she referred to as “a Dirty Dancing resort”). Tom was seated at her table for meals. Sparks flew and they went from guests to employees so they could spend the rest of their summer together. They were married on November 12, 1954.

Beverly attended Alvarado Elementary, James Lick Junior High, Lowell High School, Burlingame High School and San Mateo High School. She worked for Levy Brothers Department Store, Bank of America and Prudential Mortgage Loan. She later went back to school and earned her Associate of Arts in Social Services from West Valley College.

Beverly started searching for the meaning of life at an early age. She became a mail order minister (Rev Bev) and married many couples including her daughter and son-in-law. She also developed her natural psychic abilities and counseled over 2,000 people. She believed that life was a wonderful journey and her phone greeting reflects this belief: “Enjoy yourselves and try to be positive and happy.”

Beverly is survived by her son Martin Jensen, daughter Sharstin Brannock, son-in-law Jesse Brannock, grandson Evan Brannock and her beloved cat Fluffy. Her husband, parents, sister and a niece preceded her in death.

Beverly will be placed with her husband Tom at Eagle Point National Cemetery.
