Darrel Joe Thetford

Darrel (Teddy) Thetford, affectionately known as Papa, passed away on August 25, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. Darrel was born August 3, 1942 to Oris and Willie Thetford in Torrance, California. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Patti and daughters Debbie Note (husband Mike Note) and Kim Wiedeman (husband Jerry Wiedeman). Papa was blessed by 4 grandchildren Chelsie (Note) Massey, Bryan Note, Ryan Wiedeman and Megan (Wiedeman) Chouinard. Papa was doubly blessed by his 2 great grandchildren Koen and River Massey.

Papa enjoyed many different hobbies including drag racing with his Corvettes, motorcycle racing and hill climbing, wood working, spending time with his family on camping and boating adventures, and helping friends and family at every needed moment. There was not one challenge that Papa faced that he could not master. Papa taught us so much throughout his years and every lesson will be cherished.

Papa will be missed dearly, but never forgotten! His love will live with us forever.

We will be having a Celebration of Life on October 5, 2024 from 1-3pm at 436 Murphy Road, Medford, Oregon.
