David John Jackson unexpectedly passed away on Wednesday October 21st, 2020. He was born on July 13th, 1944 in Chicago, Illinois to Warren C. and Lucille A. Jackson. The family moved to Talent, Oregon when David and his brother Warren were young boys. David graduated Medford Senior High in 1962. He joined the Navy during the Vietnam War from 1965 to 1969 and served on the Admiral Flagship Eldorado as a teletype repairman. Working in the mill and going to college, he fulfilled his dream of becoming an Art Teacher. He graduated from Southern Oregon State College (now Southern Oregon University) in 1977 and moved right into a teaching position at McLoughlin Jr. High where he had attended as a youth. David retired in 1999 and substituted another 12 years. He loved to coach football, both teach and play golf, prospect, and create art. He is proceeded in death by his wife Margo Rae of forty-nine years and is survived by his brother Warren, three sons David, Eric, and Marc, his daughter Brandi, nine grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren. He was greatly loved, and will be greatly missed. A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held on November 13th, 2020 at Joy Church Medford, located at 2715 Table Rock Road, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm.
