Donald Edwards Morshead, born April 4, 1956 died suddenly at home on June 22, 2023. He was born in Montreal, Canada and moved with his family to California as a young child. He graduated school from Bonita High School in 1974. He worked selling and financing cars for 30 years and towards the end of his working career became a freight broker.
He married his wife Sherry Lee Rogers/Morshead August 9, 2005 after living together for seven years. They meet in person after several weeks of phone calls, Halloween night October 31, 1998. When Sherry first saw him she was almost in shock and said “you’re the man in my dreams!” They decided to move from California to Oregon where they finally found the house Don fell in love with; a log house on top of a mountain that overlooked Medford, Oregon.
They bought their first dog Raider April 9, 2004 and they fell in love with the dog life, to which they added two more dog; Jessie James and Lightning. After their passing Don and Sherry obtained two more black lab twins; Cody Bear and Mr. Tucker.
Don loved to cook and grill and use his air fryer, to fish for salmon, dove hunting with his brother David, watching football and was a diehard Raiders fans. He loved camping in his RV and riding his Harley with his wife, Sherry. He never passed up a chance to devour a Filipe’s pizza when in California.
Don had a big heart and would do anything for friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Stella and Stanley Doepker, step father, Jerry Morshead and youngest brother, Robert Morshead. He is survived by his loving wife of 18 years Sherry Lee Rogers/Morshead, his step son Mark VanSyckle and granddaughters Jazmine and Chloe, his brother David and Lisa Morshead and his nieces Kristine, and Janelle and step sister Jerene and many friends.
Don requested to be cremated and his ashes be mixed with his three dogs; Raider, Jessie James and Lightning. Most of his ashes were sprinkled in his favorite fishing spot in the Rogue River at Casey Park in a private ceremony by his brother David and his wife Sherry on their 18 anniversary August 9, 2023. The remainder of his ashes along with his dogs will be in the base of four pine trees in his honor.
From his wife: I could not save you but may you rest in peace until we meet again soon. You are and always will be the love of my life.
