Donald L Thompson

Donald "Don" L. Thompson, 81, passed away July 20, 2016 at Roxy Ann Memory Community in Medford, Ore.He was born June 29, 1935 in Springfield, Ill. to Clyde and Lodema Thompson. Don worked for Bryds Market in Grants Pass, Ore.; Meisters Bi-Rite Market in Ashland, Ore.; and Fred Meyer in Medford, Ore. He married Betty R. (Wheat) Thompson June 6, 1954 and the couple had their 62nd wedding anniversary this spring. Don was a devoted member of the Rogue Valley Christian Church. He was also a member of the Rogue Valley Umpires Association and Star Promenade Square Dancers. His hobbies included woodworking, camping, and all types of sports; most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Donald is survived by hi loving wife, Betty; daughters, Debra Sybrant (Mark) of Dallas, Ore. Susan Bryant (Dale) of White City, Ore.;sons, Kenneth Thompson (Jeanie) of Talihina, Okla.and Gary Thompson (Sherri) of Eagle Point, Ore.; grandchildren, Tara, Troy, Matt, Shannon, Andy, Amber, Nikki and Sarah; and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Lodema Thompson; and his brother, Larry Thompson.
