Mrs. Doris Irene Hassler

Doris Irene Hassler went to be with the Lord, July 25, 2026, at the age of 92, in the presence of family and loving caregivers. She was a much loved wife, mom, grandma, great-grandma, and friend to many. Her presence will be deeply missed.

Doris was born in Dallas, OR to Henry and Lydia Hildebrand in December of 1933, the 3rd of 4 children. She had two older brothers Clarence and Walter and a younger sister Lucille. Raised on a farm in Monmouth, OR, Doris enjoyed playing with her siblings and cousins, learning the value of both work and worship. She came to know Jesus as her Savior at a young age, living what she learned, by loving God first and loving people.

Doris met Keith Hassler in high school and they were married July 25, 1952 in Dallas, OR. They had 3 children, Norman (Debi) Hassler and twin daughters, Karen (Mark) Lounsbury and Karla (Bill) Floyd.

Doris tended her home, family, friendships and children as she tended her flowers, watering them with attention, care and love. She worked part-time as a caregiver for several years and also in floral design. She loved crafting with found objects, such as pine cones and shells. After she and Keith retired, they spent 5 years travelling and living in an RV, making lifelong friends along the way.

Doris was actively involved in Women’s Bible Study and had a kind and compassionate heart. She loved giving and receiving hugs. Always willing to listen to others, she shared wise counsel with both friends and her family. She leaves behind a legacy in the life of her children and their spouses, 9 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson. All of her children and grandchildren remember her love for beachcombing and would look for heart shape rocks to bring back to her.

She faced many challenges in life, but found her strength in the Lord. She shared that strength and support with others in need. She loved much and was loved much by her family, numerous nieces and nephews, her friends from church, those who gave her such loving care at Pear Valley/The Grove and the wonderful Riverside Hospice workers who helped ease her transition from this temporal life to everlasting life.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Keith, brother, Clarence Hildebrand and sister, Lucille Mansigh, 1 granddaughter and other family members.

A celebration of her life will be held at Saturday, August 8th from 1-3pm at:
