“In God’s care you rest above,
In our hearts you rest with love,
Memories of you are ours to keep,
Our words are few, but our love is deep.”

Eleanore passed away peacefully at home on July 20, 2026, at the age of 96. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late William Meyer and Claire Wilson. While working for the phone company in Chicago, Illinois, Eleanore met and married Frederick L. Wendt(USN), who preceded her in death in 2004. They were happily married for 55 beautiful years.
Eleanore took great pride in her family and her many friends. It was not uncommon to find a book in her hands, as she was an avid reader. She enjoyed spending her time not only reading, but playing all varieties of board, dice and card games. Not only did she enjoy playing games, she enjoyed winning - especially against her many grandchildren (otherwise they were cheating).
Eleanore is a former member of the Shady Cove Booster Club, Red Hat Society, and volunteered with Las Robles Medical Center in Thousand Oaks, CA and Providence Hospital in Medford, OR. She was a dedicated member of the Ascension Lutheran Church since 2004 where she will be missed by many, having provided life-long memories for all she knew.
She is survived by her children: Laura Wendt of Medford, OR; Nancy Fadler(Kelly) of Kimberely, ID; William Wendt (Elizabeth) of Mexico; Steven Wendt of Central Point, OR; Frederick Wendt Jr. (Dana) of Roseville, CA; Natalie Berend (Ron) of Lake Havasu, AZ; and Jennifer Del Monaco (Anthony) of Medford, OR. She had 16 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren. Eleanore is also survived by her sister, Cora L. Tindall (Mike) of Texas. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Paul A. Coon.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Asante Hospice or the American Heart Associate per Eleanore’s wishes.
