Emily “Amy” Spano passed away peacefully in her bed surrounded by her family on August 16. She was very feisty her entire life right up to the end. Hospice and her favorite caregivers at Bonaventure assisted living made her very comfortable her last few days.
Mom was born in Gustine, California on September 11, 1924. She later moved to San Jose, California where she married her husband Bruno. They settled and raised a family in Campbell, California, then moved to Oregon in their later years. Amy loved to play bingo and card games. She also loved her pet dogs, most recently her “baby” Skipper. Grand daughter Heather has provided a new home for Skipper. She lived independently and was still driving her Honda at the age of 90.
We will all miss you Mom, but are thankful you are now in heaven with your husband Bruno, son Rick, and all the friends and relatives that you outlived. I’m sure we will all continue to share many stories about your escapades and antics during your lifetime, as you had a knack for making people laugh.
Amy was preceded in death by her husband Bruno Spano, son Richard Spano, and brother Richard Aleixo. Surviving relatives are son Shane Spano and wife Kathy Spano, grandchildren Tyler Spano, Shauna Skinner and her husband Derrick, and great grandchildren Robert & Vincent Skinner. Also daughter in law Vicki Spano, grandchild Shannon Moore and her husband Justin, great grandchildren Jake & Myla Moore, grandchild Heather McClenahen and her husband Matt, great grandchildren Max & Ben.
There will be a Mass and reception on October 26 at 12:00 at Shepard of the Valley Catholic Church, 600 Beebe Rd., Central Point, Oregon
