Erma Anna Birnie age 95 of Eagle Point, OR passed away peacefully on April 10, 2021. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Erma was born and raised in Grossmont, CA, the youngest of eight children. As an adult, she lived in various parts of the United States, including New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Missouri, California, Tennessee, and Oregon, however, California was always home to her. As a young girl she learned to play cello, piano and tennis and continued her passion well into motherhood. After raising her children, she married Tom Birnie and they lived in St. Louis, MO. They loved to travel, going on a cruise through the Panama Canal, and visiting family that was spread across the country. After Tom died in 1991, Erma travelled with her best friends, Carol and Sarah. They enjoyed several cruises to Alaska and touring parts of the United States towing a trailer and visiting National parks. Erma enjoyed watching her grandchildren play sports, including soccer, baseball, basketball and swimming. She also enjoyed their school plays, recitals and drums.
Erma will be remembered for her caring and nurturing nature, a very dry sense of humor and her love of family.
No memorial services are planned. She will be cremated and her ashes scattered in the eucalyptus grove above her beloved Grossmont home.
