Gary served in both the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Army for almost 15 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, riding his Harley and spending time with his family. He was very proud of the time he spent as President of the Old Guard Riders, serving veterans and their families.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie (Athanas) Whisenant, son, Gary P. Whisenant; brothers, Barry and Tommy; grandkids, Thomas, Matthew and Jessi; step kids, Chris and Johni and numerous aunts and uncles. Gary was preceded in death by his parents.
