Born in Seattle in 1940, Georgia lived a life defined by empathy, generosity, and quiet strength. She dedicated much of her life to caring for others—family, friends, and neighbors alike—always offering comfort, patience, and a listening ear to those in need.
Georgia’s love for animals—especially cats—was a defining part of her life. She found great joy in their companionship and worked tirelessly to improve their well-being. For many years, she volunteered with C.A.T.S in Medford, Oregon, where she helped care for, nurture, and find homes for countless cats in need. Her gentle presence and dedication made a lasting impact on both the animals and the community she served.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard A. Erickson; her son, Rodney J. Erickson; and her daughter-in-law, Marilyn S. Erickson (Sykes). She is survived by her oldest son, Daniel G. Erickson and his wife Anne Keeney.
Those who knew Georgia will remember her for her warm heart, quiet strength, and the simple, meaningful ways she showed love every day. She found happiness in small moments—a purring cat, a shared conversation, or the comfort of helping someone feel less alone.
Georgia’s life was a testament to compassion in action. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her, both human and animal alike.
