John Gilbert Vinta

John was born in Lanai, HI to Gilbert Vinta and Agnes Vinta on March 30th, 1940. He moved to San Diego as a teenager with his family to make a better life. He served time in the army after graduating from Kearney High School, where he met his first wife Susanne in Germany. They moved to San Diego and raised two children, Michael John and Brenda Sue.

John is preceded in death by his parents Gilbert and Agnes.

He is survived by his sisters Marjorie and Linda and his brother Wayne. His first wife Susanne Barabasch and their children Michael and Brenda. His four grandchildren Hans Michael, Darrin Mitchell, Aaron Steven, and Heidi Nicole.

His longtime partner of 17 years, Sandra Ramirez, was a rock for John all through their years together and we thank her.

John loved building his roadsters, the Padres and the Chargers. He passed on this love to his children and grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held in San Diego on March 30th, 2025, which would have been his 85th birthday at a place to be determined.
