June was born in Connecticut to Karl and Doris Herzberg, moving to the West Coast prior to marrying and raising a family. Her final years were spent in Medford, Oregon.
June had a love of animals, which started early when she spent time with the horses at her grandmother's riding academy. Children and animals were June's passion. She devoted her life to making a home for her husband and children, as well as opening that home to foster children. For many years, after her children were grown, June turned her home into an Adult Foster Home. June was happiest when she felt needed and could help others. Once you met June, you never forgot her.
June was preceded in death by her husband Herman, her brother Frederick, her infant daughter Brenda, her oldest son Larry, and her great-grandson Conor.
She is survived by her daughters Sharron Mitchell (Dan) and Colleen Thompson (LT), her son Bruce Knotts (Laura), her grandchildren Robert Frey (Wendy), Laura Turner (Stephen), Ursa Youngberg, Crystal Emery (James), Anthony Knotts (Sophie), David Knotts (Sadie), Erica Knotts, and her great-grandchildren Hailey, Benjamin, Hunter, Mason, Willow, Grace, Parker, Victoria, Clara, Isabella and Jeremy.
June will be interred at Tahoma National Cemetery where she will rejoin her husband, Herman. There will be no memorial services per June's request.
Her family sends a special thank you to Asante Hospice Services and Lighthouse Adult Foster Home for their loving care and support.
