Kermit was born July 19, 1953 to Luther and Elouise (Liddell) Johnson, in Mosspoint, Mississippi.
Kermit enjoyed cooking, grilling, fishing, and playing cribbage and dominoes. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ashland. While serving in the U.S. Army for 6 years, he was a journalist.
He is survived by his wife Susan, children; Lamar, Jamal, and Rachel of Klamath Falls, and daughter Jewel Johnson of Ashland. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren as well as his siblings; Archie Johnson of Sacramento, and Saundra Rene Gaston-Hammonds, of Richmond, California.
Kermit was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Nathaniel and Luther Jr., as well as an aunt, “Aunt Sister”. He was laid to rest at Eagle Point National Cemetery in Eagle Point, Oregon.
