Kim Irene Meredith was born to Robert William and Doris Irene (Bob and Irene) Meredith on April 7, 1955. She grew up in the Brownsboro area and graduated from Eagle Point High School in 1973, and attended RCC and OTI (pre OIT) before going to work for the USDA Forest Service. Later, she worked at the US Department of Veterans Affairs at the Domiciliary in White City until she retired in 2017 after 33 years of service.
Kim was generous with her time and resources. She volunteered for many years with the Sams Valley Lioness Club. She was a dear friend to many, who showed up in great numbers whenever we had occasion to celebrate her.
On July 4, 1994, she married William Mate, who predeceased her in 2015.
Kim is survived by her daughter Christina, who was the greatest joy in her life, her sister-in-law Georgia, brother Tom, and sisters Tami and Pam. Sister Sammie (2019), and brother Jim (2009), predeceased her.
Kim had a hearty laugh, and a deep caring for others. She and Georgia grew very close after losing their husbands; Georgia was lovingly promoted to full sister status. Kim will be missed by many.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances would be welcomed for Disabled American Veterans at dav.org.
