Max Rudisill Brown

July 13, 1934 ~ September 28, 2026

A celebration of the homegoing of Max Rudisill Brown will be held October 31, 2026, at 11:00am at First Baptist Church Medford. Pastor Greg Spires will officiate.

Mr. Brown died at home. He was born in Burkesville, Kentucky and grew up in Kentucky, Indiana, and Illinois. He entered the U.S. Marine Corps in 1953, serving on active duty until 1968, and in the reserve until 1984, when he retired with the rank of 1st Sgt.

On December 13, 1963, in San Francisco, he married Doreen Joyce Clunas. They moved to Medford in 1969.

He graduated from Southern Oregon College in 1973 and from the University of Oregon with an M.S. in Education in 1978. He taught Fine Arts at Crater High School and Hedrick Junior High School. He was the Administrator of Cascade Christian High School from 1989 until 1992.

He was an active member of First Baptist Church Medford, serving on various boards and teaching.

He enjoyed painting, fishing, photography, RVing and traveling.

He is survived by his four children: Fowler John Brown of Spring Hill, FL, Rhoda Anne Brown of Eugene, OR, Charleen Renee Briese of Bismarck, ND and Russell P. Brown (Lisa) of Medford, OR, 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his lovely wife, Doreen J Brown and two younger brothers: Charles Brown of Riverside, CA in 2016 and Robert Brown of San Marcos, CA in 2025.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Grace Cascade Christian Schools of Medford.
