

Michael Andrew (“Andy”) McBee, age 69, passed away peacefully at home on January 7, 2026, after a long illness, with his wife and son by his side. Andy was born on March 26, 1956, in Grants Pass, Oregon. He spent his career as a General Contractor in residential building, a profession that reflected his skill, dedication, and pride in creating something lasting. Above all, Andy was a sentimental and devoted husband, father, stepfather, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Joan McBee; his children and their spouses: Chris McBee; Brian and Amber McBee; Brandon McBee; and Sarah McBee and Jake Warner; and his stepchildren: Rachel and Rob Koning; Clint and Vanessa Huntley; and Jess and Lizzie Huntley.
Andy was a proud grandfather to nine grandchildren: Braxton McBee, Cooper McBee, Logon McBee, Evan McBee, Wesley Koning, Case Koning, Maximilliano Rodriquez, Avery Warner, and Forest Huntley, each of whom held a special place in his heart.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Betty McBee.
Andy and Joan met at the Mount Shasta 4th of July race in 1998. A year later, they completed the run again and got married with their seven children by their side. Andy had a deep love for the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and relaxing by the river with Joan, where they spent countless hours together. Known for their competitive spirits, Andy and Joan shared a passion for bass fishing and participated in tournaments with the Rogue Valley Bassmasters for 25 years. Andy hunted in Oregon, Alaska, and Africa. He was proud of his SCI record book moose among many other trophies. A private celebration of life will be held in the future.
