In her own words, she recently wrote: “It is time for me to go and visit those who have gone before me. I grew up in a farm community in Siskiyoi Co. I married young to Jess Hanon, a good man with whom I enjoyed 52 years of marriage. We had two children, Paige Turnage (Greg) and Jesse Hanon (Melanie). I was blessed with 3 granddaughters, Erin, Madison, and Delaney Hanon, and a grandson, Savon Turnage.”
Nancy loved life and it loved her back. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, learning new things, reading, gardening, quilting, listening to music, and dancing.
She retired from the Eagle Point School District where she dedicated many years of diligent and caring work to her students and staff as a child development specialist.
She was a fierce advocate for volunteer work and often volunteered for women's and children's organizations in her community. She is preceded in death by her parents, Clinton Jones and Inez Silva, her brother Larry Jones, sister Sandra Hedin and husband Jess Hanon.
To know her was to love her and she will be greatly missed.
