Roberta, also affectionately called Mom, Baba, Berta, and when she was young, Bobbie Lynn passed away July 5, 2026 surrounded by her family at Providence Hospital in Medford Oregon.
Roberta is survived by her husband of 45 years, Frank her children, Kelly, Julie, Frankie, Elizabeth, Jennifer and her husband Armand, and Joshua and his wife, Karyn. She had 10
Grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter.
Roberta was born in West Virginia but moved to San Leandro, CA when she was 4 and spent most of her life there. She was an elementary school teacher until she had children and she did what she always wanted to do, stay home and take care of her children. Eventually she moved with her husband and the two youngest of her children to Montague, CA a quiet and rural area in Northern California.
She loved being a mother and wife and made sure her family felt loved and cared for all the time. She would make special birthday dinners and bake delicious cakes for all the special occasions. She was quick witted, funny, and sarcastic. She was also affectionate, loving, encouraging, and always there for her family. She was a homebody, happiest to be at home and surrounded by her family. She was an excellent cook and baker. She was creative and artistic, she sewed baby clothes and blankets, and wrote and illustrated a Christmas book for her family. She was practical and grounded and held her family together. She had a way of saying so much with just a look. She could freeze you in your tracks if you were doing something wrong or reassure you instantly if you were upset. It’s not possible to encapsulate all the wonderful qualities she possessed and just how much her family and friends will miss her. If love could have kept her alive, she would have lived forever.
No services are planned. In her honor, remember to be kind, believe the best in others and yourself, and if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all. Be good.
