Stanley Lovell Ferns, 89, of Phoenix and most recently Ashland, passed into eternity on
Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at The Village at Valley View Assisted Living and Memory Care.
Stan was born in Medford, Oregon on August 2, 1930, to Ralph and Mona Ferns. He had one
older sister, Gladys Davenport, who preceded him in death in 1999. He married Bonnie Lou
Terzenbach on September 23, 1950 in Phoenix where they made their home and raised two
children, Marlon and Connie. Stan worked for Coca Cola, Pepsi and RC Cola, and was
responsible for bringing Dr. Pepper to the Rogue Valley. As a young man he worked for Kogap
Mill and Williams Bakery. Stan also drove a log truck for Grant Buell Trucking and Bob Liles
Trucking, and a lumber truck for Brauner Trucking.During this entire time Stan was also an
orchardist growing pears on his property in Fern Valley.
Stan enjoyed water skiing, fishing and hunting with his son, Marlon, for many years, and
son-in-law, Phil. He truly loved being with his family and friends.
Stan is survived by son, Marlon (Kate) Ferns, and daughter, Connie (Phil) Wilkes, five
granddaughters, Taunya, Angela, Jessica, Tara and Lainie, 14 great-grandchildren and three
great-great grandchildren.
The memorial service and celebration of life of Stanley Lovell Ferns will be held on Sunday,
March 15th at 2:00pm at First Presbyterian Church of Phoenix, 121 W. 2nd Street. Immediately
following the service a reception will be held in the fellowship hall. Please join us.
