Thomas Carl Tipton
March 30, 1940 – January 11, 2021
Thomas “Tom” Tipton, 80, of Shady Cove, Oregon passed away on January 11th, 2021. Tom was born on March 30th, 1940 in Stockton, California. He graduated from Crater High School in 1959 and after graduation went to work at Southwest Forest Industry where he was a Mill Worker for 20 years. Following that, he went to work for Modern Plumbing until his official retirement. Tom married Carole Edlund of Homer, Alaska in 1966, and had 54 years of loving bliss. Although the couple had no children, their beloved cats and dogs kept them just as lively. Tom enjoyed fishing and rafting on the Rogue River, where he was also a part-time river guide. His friends and family will always remember him as an avid outdoorsman and that he loved living on the Rogue. Tom Tipton is survived by his wife Carole Tipton of Shady Cove, Oregon; his brother Don (Sandie) of Shady Cove, Oregon; his sister Holly Araquistain of Stockton, California; and his sister-in-law Linda Meyling of Stockton, California. He is preceded in death by his brother Garry Meyling; his brother-in-law Peter Araquistain; and his loving parents. Tom requested no service, but would like a line cast or a trail walked in his honor. The family would like to thank the dedicated team that cared so deeply for Tom in his final days: Dr. Ramanujam and her staff at Providence Medford Medical Center, the Palliative Care Team, and all staff of the second, third, and ICU floors. They went above and beyond in their care of Tom, and the family will always remember their kindness.
